The Fort Wayne Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 327,671 in 1970 to 416,257 in 2010. That was an increase of 27.0 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 5,071 in 1970 to 19,672 in 2010. That was an increase of 287.9 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 1.5 percent to 4.7 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 22.9 percent.

The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, B-D remained the chief source of added population.
